Welcome to Agentic Summer Melt Prevention thatwalks every deposited student from May to the first class.
Between May's deposit and August's first class, students disappear in silence. Risely walks each deposited student through the summer one milestone at a time, and speaks only at the step they are standing on.
Deposited to enrolled · one summer
planning
One deposited student in June
the summer as a ladder rather than a drip campaign
Deposit
doneposted in May, ahead of the deadline
Orientation
donebooked and confirmed for a July session
Aid file
nowone verification document outstanding · this is the step
Housing and placement
laterwaiting behind the aid file, and nobody is chasing them yet
Registration
lateropens in August, and is the only date that cannot move
Deposited is not enrolled.
A summer is not a season to a deposited student. It is orientation, then aid, then housing, then placement testing, then registration. Risely's agents hold each student's own dates against each of those steps.
Deposited to enrolled
watching the quiet season
June
orientation is booked, or the record says why not
Early July
aid finalised and the housing form signed
Late July
placement testing done and the quiet students re-engaged
August
registered, which is the only word for arrived
The office that fought for the deposit moves on to the next cycle in June, and the student who hit a snag in July enrols somewhere else in August.
Each student hears about their own next step.
A summer drip campaign speaks to everybody every week and reaches nobody in particular. Risely's agents message the students standing on a step, about that step, and say nothing at all to the rest.
Who hears from the office this week
one week in July
The summer drip campaign
goes to everybody every week, whether or not it applies
Students standing on a step
one message, about that step, this week
Everybody else
they get nothing, and the channel keeps its credibility
The other 96% are progressing normally, and every message they do not receive is a message they will read in August.
The summer bends around the family.
A Saturday orientation for a student who works weekdays, evening texts for a parent who does not use email, a test session on a bus route. Melt falls hardest on the families with the least slack in their week.
What the plan bends around
per family
A student who works weekdays
the Saturday orientation session booked before it filled
A parent who does not use email
evening text messages in the family's language
A family without a car
the placement test moved to the session on the bus route
A first-generation family
each step explained in terms of what it is actually for
Summer melt falls hardest on the families with the least slack, and a plan that assumes a free Tuesday morning is a plan that loses them.
Some steps belong to the institution.
A housing assignment nobody has released, an evening test session nobody has scheduled, an award revision sitting in a queue. Risely's agents raise those internally and send the family nothing until there is something to send.
Not the student's to do
no nudge sent
The housing assignment
Housingit is not released yet, so there is nothing to accept
An evening placement session
Testingit was never scheduled, and several students need one
The award revision
Financial Aidsitting in a queue since the appeal cleared
Risely's agents raise these inside the institution with the count of students waiting, and send the family nothing until there is something to send.
One thing moves. The summer plan re-runs.
An orientation session that fills, a housing deadline the office moves, a job that changes a family's week. Any of them changes what this student does next, and every one runs the same way.
Orientation fills its last weekday session
and one family works weekdays
Risely re-plans that summer
onto the Saturday session instead
The rest of the ladder shifts
placement testing moves a week later
One message goes out
with the new dates and nothing else in it
Registration still opens on time
which is the one date that could not move
Agentic Summer Melt Prevention never works alone.
What changes, and how it runs.
Every deposited student has a plan for the summer
Each milestone comes with a date that belongs to that student.
The channel keeps its credibility
Students who are on track hear nothing this week, so August lands.
A missed step reaches the right desk
Some of them are the institution's to fix rather than the family's.
The technical read
Connects read-only to the admissions CRM, SIS, aid module, and housing system to start
A counselor approves every message that reaches a family
Every action lands on an append-only log
Runs alongside what you have. Nothing rips out.
